Writer Amanda Hocking took to her blog, AmandaHocking.Blogspot.com, to address errors in the media that have been publicized about her.

For starters, Hocking gave her age (26), where she lives (Austin, Minnesota), her published work count (eight books, one novella), and that she hasn’t ever been “traditionally published.”  She clarified that her “published full-length novels” are in paperback and e-book formats.

“A few books have foreign deals in place, but the books have not been published yet” and her first two books were published on April 15, 2010.

“I have been on the USA Today Bestseller list but not the NY Times List. (I suspect the Times hates me).”  And she wrote that her “trilogy has been optioned for a film.” She also included some personal factoids, including that she likes sushi.

As Business Insider recently reported, Hocking “is the best-selling ‘indie’ writer on the Kindle store, meaning she doesn’t have a publishing deal.”

iMediaEthics has written to Hocking for more information and will update with any response.
